About Peg
Peggy Oertwig is a life-long animal lover. She has been a professional pet sitter since 1999, and was thrilled at the opportunity to start Peg’s Pet Care in 2006. Peg and her husband, Rodney, share their home with three dogs and two cats. Peg and Rodney participate in the Platte County Pet Power program with their Border Collie, Sydney and their Pug, Jasper. In addition, Peggy participates in Agility and Rally O with Sydney, and Canine Freestyle with Sydney and Jasper. Peggy is an AKC Certified Canine Good Citizen ("CGC") Evaluator, as well as being certified by the American Red Cross to perform and teach Pet First Aid and CPR. She is a member of the Northland Animal Welfare Society (NAWS), the Disaster Animal Response Team (DART), and has learned the basics of the Tellington TTouch method for companion animals. Peggy is working towards becoming a Certified Pet Dog Trainer, and is a member of the training team at The Dogs' Spot-Dog Training Center in Gladstone, Missouri.

My parents went to Hawaii and all I got was this silly shirt!

Peg's Pet Care is proud to have sponsored a team for the Greater Kansas City Humane Society's Second Annual Golf Classic, held on July 30, 2006. Presented by No More Homeless Pets KC, and held at Ironhorse Golf Club, the event helped raise nearly $18,000.00 to support Kansas City's less fortunate animals! From left to right are Kyle Robey, Doug Evans, Rodney Oertwig and Steve Stewart. Thanks again guys for helping out!

Sydney shows off her Canine Freestyle moves at the Open House of the Dogs' Spot Dog Training Center on February 19, 2007.
